Delegating Whereabouts to an Authorised Representative

Athletes are ultimately responsible for making sure that their whereabouts information is accurate, but they can nominate a trusted person, an Authorised Representative to submit and manage it on their behalf.

The athlete is also still responsible for making sure that they are at the specified location at the nominated time, whether or not they made the Whereabouts Filing.

An athlete in the Registered Testing Pool must specify one hour every day, between 6am and 11pm, when they will be available for testing.

 

The athlete must tell ASADA where they will be for this hour and make sure that they are at the specified place.

Failure to be available for testing

If an athlete is not able to be at their specified location at their nominated time, they must let ASADA know as soon as possible.

Failure to be available for testing at the specified location at the nominated time is the same as missing a test. A missed test can lead to an Anti-Doping Rule Violation and sanction.

How to update Whereabouts information that is already logged

It’s hard for anyone to know where they’ll be three months in advance, so athletes can update their whereabouts information at any time before their nominated hour by logging in online, calling 13 000 ASADA (13 000 27232) or if there’s enough time, posting an updated Whereabouts form [PDF - 115KB] to PO Box 1744 FYSHWICK ACT 2609.

False information in Whereabouts Filings

Knowingly giving ASADA false information in a Whereabouts Filing can lead to an Anti-Doping Rule Violation and sanction.
